Company Milestones
Active Risk formerly STG is proud of its more than 20 year history in the IT industry. Milestones include:
- 1987 – Strategic Thought founded as a specialist technology company
- 2001 – STG launches Active Risk Manager (ARM) – the world’s first web-based enterprise risk management software
- 2004 – STG US headquarters opened in Washington D.C. metropolitan area
- 2005 – STG floated on the London Stock Exchange Alternative Investment Market, ticker symbol STR
- 2005 - STG acquires Line International and RisGen and incorporates their functionality into ARM over time
- 2006 – STG becomes a Microsoft Gold Business Partner
- 2008 – STG expands into new EMEA headquarters in Maidenhead, west of London
- 2008 – STG divests its non-risk services business to focus on risk-reward centric software and services
- 2009 – ARM cited as having the best value proposition for ERM by independent analysts
- 2009 – STG launches ARM 4 and Collaborative Workshop Solution (CWS) which captures risks and opportunities at source and integrates with ARM
- 2010 – ARM and our customers nominated for over 20 international awards
- 2010 – STG featured in Gartner Enterprise GRC Platforms Magic Quadrant
- 2010 – ARM wins “Risk Management Application of the Year”
- 2010 – ARM customer, Karl Davey, wins “Risk Manager of the Year”
- 2011 – STG rebrands as Active Risk
