Active Risk Group plc is managed by the Board of Directors under the chairmanship of Lynton Barker.
Lynton became executive chairman of Active Risk in 2010 following a period in a non-executive role. Prior to this he was Executive Chairman of Hedra plc, the consulting and business services company that was sold to Mouchel in March 2008. Lynton joined Hedra in 2003 after 20 years at PricewaterhouseCoopers where he had been a member of the PwC main board and head of the consulting services division.
Andrew was at Misys plc as Business Unit Finance Director within the Banking Division. Andrew held several senior financial positions whilst at Misys, including Chief Financial Officer of Misys Risk Management Systems in California and European Financial Controller. His early career was at Generali SpA and English and American Group plc. Andrew qualified as a chartered accountant with Coopers & Lybrand.
Peter had a 30 year career with IBM. He is a former Executive Director of IBM (UK) and was also Group Director of Marketing for IBM Europe. Now chairman of Technetix Group Limited and a non-executive Director of Oxford Instruments plc and Hyder Consulting plc. Peter is a former Director General of the IoD.
Alastair is a Director of SDL plc, the software solutions company, where he has recently stepped down from being Chief Financial Officer, a post he had held for the last 10 years. Previously, he spent ten years with Berisford plc, the catering equipment manufacturer, latterly as the Chief Financial Officer for the USA.
Iain has held a number of non-executive positions as well as founding several businesses in the technology sector. He has a strong Sales and Marketing background with experience of both the UK and the USA markets in a variety of roles at all levels. Iain is also a Non-Executive Director of Internetq plc. He was Deputy Chairman of Alterian plc until October 2011, having co-founded the business in 1997 and was also CEO of the Loewy Group Ltd until the sale of the business in July 2011.
The day-to-day running of the business is the responsibility of the Executive Committee, made up of the directors of Active Risk Group Ltd, and key managers from the business.

Loren Padelford is Senior Vice President of Active Risk Group and Chairman of the Americas’ Board, reporting to the Executive Chairman. Loren is responsible for overall strategy, vision and business development at Active Risk. In addition, as Chairman of the Americas’ Board, Loren has responsibility for the performance and growth of the Americas region, including the USA, South America and Canada.
Loren is a seasoned, senior level sales and business development executive, with a track record of success in technology, advertising and business services and has deep experience in the risk management software sector. Prior to joining Active Risk, Loren was Vice President of Strategic Alliances and Global Sales Director for Dyadem International, a leading enterprise software provider. Loren was a key member of the leadership team and instrumental in the growth of the business.
Mark joined Active Risk in April 2000 from SunGard where he was General Manager running the European operations of one of their main business lines. Prior to that Mark held senior management and consulting roles with Coopers & Lybrand and Lazard Brothers in London. Mark holds a Bachelor of Business Studies in Information Systems and Finance and is an Associate Chartered Accountant with the New Zealand Society of Accountants. Mark is also Active Risk’s Chief Risk Officer.
Darren returned to Active Risk as Chief Technical Officer after an 18 month sabbatical during which time he gained his Commercial Pilot’s Licence. He now has a frozen ATPL! Darren has a BSc International Politics and Strategic Studies, and an MSc in Computer Science. He started his career at Ferrant Syseca before moving to BAe SEMA and then on to Active Risk where he was one of our leading Management Consultants.
Peter joined Active Risk in 2008 and has been in the IT industry for over 25 years. Prior to joining Active Risk Peter held a similar role at Swedish ERP player, IFS. Peter also worked for 12 years at software giant SAP in a number of roles including consulting, product management and as UK Marketing Director. He has also worked for Unilever and as a freelance consultant. Peter is a Director of BASDA the UK software industry trade body.
Adrian Farley has nearly 30 years experience in Human Resources having worked at both UK and Global businesses. Adrian joins us from SAP UK and SAP AG where he spent seven years in senior roles. Adrian is responsible for maintaining Active Risk’s focus on its high talent and high performing workforce.

Emma Price is a highly experienced and qualified risk professional. She has worked in Europe and Australia, most recently with Rio Tinto and as Executive Director at Ernst & Young in Melbourne. Prior to this she spent several years with Airbus working in the UK and France. Emma has extensive experience of implementing ERM strategies and frameworks, addressing both risk processes and cultural practices that underpin business performance. She is a Certified Practising Risk Manager (CPRM). The CPRM is the licence for Risk Managers awarded by the Risk Management Institution of Australasia (RMIA) and is highly regarded in the industry in defining leaders in risk management. Emma has an honours degree in Law and an MSc in Business.
Bob Bell retired from a 25-year career at Lockheed Martin to take up a new position as an industry and implementation expert. For 7 years, Bob was the risk manager for the JSF programme at Lockheed Martin. He led the development and implementation of the JSF risk management processes and rolled out these procedures for the aeronautic sector of Lockheed Martin. Bob is an Adjunct Professor teaching at Southern Methodist University, and is a recognised expert on risk management.
