Several Active Risk customers were winners at the global Risk Management Awards 2011, which were presented at a ceremony in London on November 16th. The awards, run in association with the Institute of Risk Management, attracted over 400 of the most influential players in the risk industry to the awards dinner hosted by Risk Management Professional magazine and TV celebrity Ruby Wax. In addition to winning their awards, the Active Risk customers were also shortlisted in numerous categories. Other ARM users shortlisted for awards included Network Rail and Eurocopter. Read more
Karl Davey of Strategic Thought customer Leighton Contractors has been named Risk Manager of the Year at the 2010/11 Risk Management Institution of Australasia (RMIA) Conference in Sydney. The award represents the pinnacle of risk management excellence and is awarded to the individual that is deemed to be at the forefront of best practice.
Leighton Contractors use Active Risk Manager (ARM) as the foundation of their risk management processes and Karl has been working closely with Strategic Thought Group to drive innovation in both risk management processes and software. Over the past two years Leighton has been embedding the risk system across all their projects to ensure they are part of business-as-usual operations. Active Risk Manager (ARM), was awarded “Risk Management Application of the Year” by the judges of the Risk Management Awards 2010. Strategic Thought customer Rio Tinto, one of the world’s leaders in finding, mining and processing the earth’s mineral resources, nominated ARM for the award.
The annual Risk Management Awards are run in association with the Institute of Risk Management (IRM) and recognize excellence and innovation in all facets of the discipline and industry. Leighton Contractors, Australia’s largest Project Development & Contracting Group, has come top in 3 categories of the Risk Sentinel Awards. The winners were announced on August 10th, 2010 by Risk Management magazine at a reception in Sydney, Australia.
The awards “celebrate the best individuals and teams in the area of risk management” and “provide a telling contribution to the further advancement of risk management in Australia”, a country known for its leadership in the field. ARM customer Leighton triumphed in three out of the total of five categories and was runner-up in a fourth:
