What Makes a Great Risk Manager?

This is a confidential survey conducted by White House Consulting on behalf of Active Risk.

About the survey

First of all this is NOT a test. It is an ipsative psychometric tool which means that the results relate to you and to you alone. The results you generate merely portray the ratio of various characteristics within your personality – and nothing more. You are unique. Therefore, you cannot get the answers right, nor can you get them wrong. The answers are true of you and only you. The results will help in the generation of a profile of those working in the risk management discipline.

How to answer the questions

There are 24 questions which each contain four descriptive words. You are asked to select just two words on each question. One you should choose because its meaning most accurately describes you – select the ‘Most’ button to signify your ‘Most like me’ choice. The other word you should choose is the word out of the remaining three which is least like you – select the ‘Least’ button to signify your ‘Least like me’ choice. The other two choices on each question should be left blank.

Not sure of a word’s meaning?

Just in case there is a word whose meaning you are not quite sure of, please hover your mouse over the word and its accompanying meaning will be displayed. However, you should NOT do this on each word as it will slow you down too much and can affect the accuracy of the results.

And one final important point…

You must work through the questions in order and, once you proceed to the next question, you will not be able to return to previous questions. Think of yourself in your working environment and then make a start. You should choose your first, instinctive answer. The answers should, in effect, come from your subconscious. Thinking too much about your choices will spoil the overall result for you. Each question should take no more than about 15 seconds to complete.
